Cold weather likely to continue in country as Skardu coldest with -14°C

LAHORE (92 News) – The cold and foggy conditions are likely to continue in plains of Punjab, upper Sindh and Peshawar division during morning and night hours today. According to the Pakistan Metrological Department, temperature has gone down in many regions of the country, particularly in the northern regions where Skardu is resting at icy minus 14 degree Celsius. The PMD predicted that the cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country as very cold and dry weather in night hours and frost in morning hours is expected in upper parts of the country. The weather department said continental air is likely to prevail over most parts of the country during next two days. The lowest temperatures recorded today are as follows. Skardu -14°C, Gupis -10°C, Astore -09°C,  Gilgit -07°C, Bagrote, Kalam -05°C, Dir -04°C Rawalakot-03°C. Meanwhile, thick smog has blanketed motorway and reduced visibility to zero and 50 meters for motorists, who are being warned of traffic congestion at motorway sections including Khanewal to Multan, Lahore to Faisalabad and Gojra, Lahore to Kot Momin, Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad and Gojra. Motorway police authorities have advised commuters to use fog lights during their journeys, or rather avoid travelling unnecessarily.
