Collective efforts necessary to deal with climate change effects: PM Shehbaz Sharif

SHARM AL SHEIKH, Egypt (92 News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the Sharm Al Sheikh Climate Implementation Summit on Monday.

Addressing the summit, the prime minister said that the world is affected by climate change and collective efforts are necessary to deal with the menace. He thanked the international community for helping flood victims.

World leaders described the prime minister's continued presence in the flood-affected areas as an extraordinary gesture.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met with important world leaders on the sidelines of the COP 27 summit. Iraq President Abdul Latif Rashid, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, Indonesia President Joko Widodo separately met the prime minister.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also met Prime Minister of Lebanon Najib Makati. The prime minister thanked the Indonesia president for a prompt delivery of edible oil to Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's conveyed a message of good wishes to the government and people of Indonesia. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discussed the devastating effects of climate change with the Tajikistan president. Foreign leaders expressed their grief over the destruction and loss of lives caused by floods in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the world leaders also discussed bilateral, regional and global issues.
