Commission having ‘extensive powers’ to be formed to investigate Quetta attack

QUETTA (92 News) – The provincial apex committee meeting held on Wednesday regarding the attack on Quetta’s police training centre decided to form a commission having wide-ranging authorities. The meeting was chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri. Southern Command Commander Lt General Amir Riaz, FC IG Major General Sher Afghan and other civilian and military officials participated in the meeting. A unanimous decision to form a commission having extensive powers was taken. The commission would include the officials of all the departments concerned and would identify those responsible for the attack. The meeting also decided to take measures with a new strategy to counter other such incidents. On the same occasion, the departments concerned were directed to increase the talent of police. The meeting reiterated that no mistake would be tolerated in improving the present security situation facing challenges. “Therefore, all security forces and specially police should improve their performance,” the meeting asserted.
