GOLD COAST, Australia (92 News) – Weightlifter Talha Talib has won the first medal for Pakistan at the Commonwealth Games. Talha Talib lifted 283kg to win the bronze medal. The second day of Commonwealth Games was one of mixed fortunes for Pakistan. The hockey team failed to impress, drawing 1-1 with Wales. In badminton, Pakistan lost 5-0 against Scotland before failing to win any game against India. In the 69kg boxing competition, Pakistan’s Gulzaib defeated William of Guersney. He will face Northern Ireland’s Aidan Walsh next. Pakistan’s Madiha Zafar lost in the squash competition against Deon Saffery of Wales. Tayyab Aslam and Farhan Zaman won their squash matches.
