Complaint filed against actor Mohsin Abbas for assaulting wife

LAHORE (92 News) – Fatema Sohail – the wife of actor-singer Mohsin Abbas Haider – has filed complaint against her husband for domestic abuse. It is pertinent to mention here that Fatima shocked social media after posting on Facebook that she has been allegedly suffering from domestic abuse at the hands of her husband. Sohail claimed that the incidents started from November last year after she found out that Na Maloom Afraad actor was cheating on her. On Saturday, she submitted an application to register an FIR against Haider in the Defence C police station Lahore. Refuting the allegations leveled by his wife, Mohsin Abbas Haider said that he physically abused his wife Fatima Sohail and challenged her to prove the allegations with evidence. He also submitted application against his wife. In the application, he claimed to have all evidences. He mentioned that he is regularly bearing the expense of his wife and child. In the complaint, he also alleged that he was being blackmailed through social media campaign against him. Speaking to the journalists – referring to the pictures posted by Sohail on her social media accounts – he said, “The pictures she shared were of 2018, when she fell down the stairs”. He remarked that they were the same pictures she had sent him last year when he was traveling. The actor invited Sohail to come to the police station and show the marks on her body. He said the police are not able to reach her as she has switched off her phone. “If she showed the police the evidence, they would arrest me on the spot,” he added. Earlier, Fatema said, “On 26th Nov 2018, I caught my husband cheating. When I confronted him, instead of being embarrassed he started Beating me. I was pregnant at that time.” After writing that she had to go to a doctor to make sure the baby is okay, Sohail tried to make the relationship work for the sake of the child, although she pointed out there may have been some “Societal pressure” involved as well. Since the news broke, celebrities and concerned social media users alike have bombarded Twitter with the hashtag #StopDomesticAbuse in protest of Haider’s alleged abuse.
