Complete lockdown of country is not feasible, says PM Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan is not facing the same situation like Italy and France and complete lockdown is not feasible in the country, said Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Sunday.
In his address to the nation today, the prime minister said that 25 per cent of Pakistani population lives below the poverty line so the complete lockdown is not feasible. “The chaos and panic is more dangerous than coronavirus (COVID-19),” he added.
The prime minister maintained that going for complete lockdown will make lives of poor people miserable. “I would have gone for complete lockdown of the country had there was a similar situation in Pakistan like it had emerged in China and Italy.”
PM Khan further stated that the government has no capacity to provide food in the houses of people. He appealed the nation to observe self-discipline and quarantine to fight the deadly novel coronavirus pandemic. “We can come out of this challenging time by observing precautionary measures," he said.
