ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan is not facing the same situation like Italy and France and complete lockdown is not feasible in the country, said Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Sunday. In his address to the nation today, the prime minister said that 25 per cent of Pakistani population lives below the poverty line so the complete lockdown is not feasible. “The chaos and panic is more dangerous than coronavirus (COVID-19),” he added. The prime minister maintained that going for complete lockdown will make lives of poor people miserable. “I would have gone for complete lockdown of the country had there was a similar situation in Pakistan like it had emerged in China and Italy.” PM Khan further stated that the government has no capacity to provide food in the houses of people.  He appealed the nation to observe self-discipline and quarantine to fight the deadly novel coronavirus pandemic. “We can come out of this challenging time by observing precautionary measures," he said.
No shortage of grain in country
The nation can be identified during the difficult time. There is no shortage of grain in the country; there are so many things that nobody needs to store anything,” Imran Khan said. “I and my team are constantly working to resolve country’s problems and finding the solution how to maintain businesses and industries. We will come to nation the day after tomorrow and give strategies on the economy.” He concluded that the virus can be overcome with caution and discipline only.
