ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has said that compromises were made on several matters including sugar and flour during the past government tenures. Addressing a joint press conference on Thursday, Shibli Faraz said that a subsidy of Rs20 billion was given on sugar on the orders of Suleman Shehbaz. “Now one PML-N leader is holding a press conference after another,” he said. He said that politicians had great contributions in the destruction of national institutions. “Unluckily, PIA having a status in the world was destroyed. This institution witnessed a decline during the last 10-15 years,” he added. Shibli Faraz vowed to regain the standard of the PIA. “The pilots currently flying panes have undergone the scrutiny process,” he declared. Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi said that the government would make the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) the best institutions. “The nation knows well about the dramas staged in the PIA. People involved in illegal recruitment will be held accountable,” he said. Adviser to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shehzad Akbar said that the bans were already imposed on the PIA in the past. He said that the prime minister had ordered CAA authorities to complete the investigations at the earliest. “We are taking all-possible steps for the safety of the masses. The final report of 28 pilots has been presented to the cabinet against whom action is being taken,” he said.
