Conspiracy against Pak-China relations can’t succeed: PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that a conspiracy against Pak-China relations cannot succeed. Addressing a ceremony after inaugurating four new trains on Friday, he said that they were ready to counter terrorists in future as well. “We know that the terrorists had come on the foreign agenda. We will crush the terrorists at all costs,” he added. The prime minister said that the PTI government will make appointments on merit to improve governance and transparency. He said that public sector enterprises have become loss making entities due to political interventions and appointments made on personal links in the past. He said these organizations are facing a loss of Rs 500 billion each year. “In the power sector, the losses have reached to an amount of Rs 1,200 billion.” He urged the railways minister to get rid of employees who were appointed on political basis by previous governments and are not contributing positively to the department. Imran Khan said train is the main mode of transportation for poorer and weaker segments of society for commute and it will be improved. He said Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed is taking personal interest to improve the tracks and condition of trains, so that people travel comfortably and on time to their destinations. Speaking on the occasion, Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said his ministry has achieved the first 100-day target of starting 10 new trains ahead of the deadline. He said Pakistan Railways has earned additional revenue of over Rs 1.5 billion in last 80 days. “Two freight trains will be started on December 25.” The newly inaugurated trains include Sindh Express from Karachi to Sukkur, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Express from Karachi to Mirpur Khas, Faislabad Express and Rehman Baba Express from Peshawar to Karachi. Sindh Express will cover the stations like Karachi Cantt, Landhi, Hyderabad, Tandu Adam, Shadadpur, Nawab Shah, Khairpur and Sukkur. Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai will cover Karachi City, Landhi, Dhabeji, Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas. Faisalabad Express has been stretched to Multan and now its route includes Multan, Khanewal, Shorkot and Faisalabad. Meanwhile, the initial report of the attack on the Chinese consulate was also presented to the prime minister.
