Constitution allows appointment of ad hoc judges, says Azam Nazir Tarar

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazir Tarar has said that the constitution allows the appointment of the ad hoc judges.

Talking to the media on Thursday, he said that the judicial commission, not the chief justice, will appoint the ad hoc judges.

“We are in favour of constitutional amendments to introduce reforms in the judicial system,” he said, rejecting the news about extension in the employment tenure of Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the constitution mentions ad hoc judges. “Why has the constitution mentioned it if it is not justified? A constitutional matter cannot be stopped on the like or dislike of anyone,” he added.
