Consulate attack is conspiracy against CPEC, says PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday condemned the attack on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi, terming it as a conspiracy against China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). In his statement, the prime minister ordered an immediate inquiry of the attack. He also said the elements and motives behind this attack should be uncovered. The premier stressed that the nation was proud of the prompt action of the Rangers and police. He paid tribute to the policemen who were martyred foiling the attack. PM Imran Khan termed the attack a conspiracy against Pak-China economic and strategic relations. “Such incidents will never be able to undermine Pak-China relationship that is mightier than Himalaya and deeper than Arabian sea,” he mentioned. The prime minister also applauded the exceptional courage and added the nation salutes the martyrs and officials for acting so vigilantly. Earlier, the security forces on Friday successfully foiled the attack on the consulate located in Karachi’s Clifton Block-4 area. Two policemen were martyred and a security guard injured as three terrorists tried to enter the Chinese Consulate. The terrorists were killed before they were able to enter the consulate.
