Contempt Case: SHC indicts IG Sindh, others

KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh High Court has on Tuesday indicted seven police officials including Inspector General of Sindh Police (IGP) and Additional Inspector General of Sindh Police (AIG) in contempt of court case.

The two member bench of SHC comprising Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh and Justice Farooq Shah was hearing the case.

During the hearing IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali, former Additional Inspector General of Sind Police (AIG) Ghulam Qadir, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Dr Jamil, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) West Feroz Shah, Deputy Inspector General Chaudhry Asad, Senior Superintended of Police (SSP) Special Security Unit (SSU) Maj (r) Saleem and Senior Superintended of Police (SSP) South Faisal Bashir Memon were indicted.

Earlier, Commandos of the Special Security Unit (SSU) had subjected to torture the private guards of Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) estranged leader during his appearance before the anti-terrorism court. They had also beaten up media personnel covering the hours-long siege of the high court building on March 23.
