Contempt of Court Case: SC adjourns hearing against Talal Ch till Jan 13

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has on Tuesday adjourned the hearing contempt of court case against Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry till Tuesday (January 13). A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice IJaz Afzal resumed hearing of contempt of court case against Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry. During the proceedings, the state minister appeared before the court and appealed the court for three weeks to finalize the lawyer. The court then him one week time to finalize his lawyer and adjourned the hearing until February 13. Earlier, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar had formed a three-member bench headed by Justice Ijaz Afzal Khan to hear contempt of court case against Talal Chaudhry. The CJP had taken notice of Minister of State Talal Chaudhry’s remarks about the Supreme Court and issued him a contempt of court notice. The minister of state has been ordered to appear before the court on February 6 (Tuesday). Talal Chaudhry had been issued the notice over his remarks about the court in his January 27 speech in Jaranwala.
