Rains cause devastation in Karachi's South and Central districts

KARACHI (92 News) – Continuous heavy rains caused huge devastation across the city, especially in South and Central districts.

All streets, roads, houses and vehicles have drowned. Malir and Buffer Zone were badly affected by the rains. The Rangers, Pak Army and Pak Navy are busy in relief activities.

Heavy rains have caused urban flooding like situation in Karachi, badly affecting routine life and caused power outage in many areas.

Rainwater inundated most parts of the city roads, which is causing problems for the masses. Several areas were submerged due to heavy rain in the city. Shahra-e-Faisal, University Road, MA Jinnah Road, II Chandragar Road, Shahrah-e-Pakistan have begun to look like drains and canals. Nagan Chowrangi, Qayyumabad Chowrangi, Johar Chowrangi, Peoples Chowrangi and Power House Chowrangi were submerged with water. Underpasses in the city have also begun to look like ponds.

Karachi received the highest rainfall of 232 mm in DHA, one hundred and seventy two millimeters at Masroor base, one hundred and fifty three millimeters of rain at Faisal base.

DHA Phase Six, Khayaban Bukhari, Scheme 33, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Tariq Road and other areas were flooded. Citizens were trapped in their homes due to lack of drainage.
