Continuous rains turn roads into ponds in Quetta

QUETTA (92 News) - Continuous rains inundated the provincial capital, turning key roads into ponds.

Severe traffic logjam was witnessed on all roads. In several areas, the rainwater entered houses. People suffered huge losses after rainwater entered their houses in Afghan Colony on Kasa Road.

In Pashtunabad, six houses collapsed during the rain, while four houses were partially damaged. With the start of rain, the power supply to different areas was suspended.

Meanwhile, rains have caused large-scale devastation across Balochistan and killed seven people. The death toll due to rains has risen to 57. Incessant rains are continuing in Qalat, Khuzdar, Awaran, Turbat, Qila Saifullah, Muslim Bagh, Lasbella, Chaman, Ziarat and Kohlu.

Life has come to a standstill in Gwadar. The Pak Army, Pak Navy and the PDMA are continuing the relief operation. The Quetta Corps commander has assured the district administration all-out cooperation.
