Contradiction between PM’s speech and documents: SC

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has on Wednesday resumed hearing the Panama Leaks petitions. A five-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali resumed hearing of the Panama Papers case in Islamabad. During the proceedings, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Naeem Bukhari said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif life in the parliament and was involved in tax evasion, he must be disqualified. He was not truthful and honest (Sadiq and Ameen) thus liable to be disqualified from the National Assembly, the PTI lawyer said. He said that that the son of the Prime Minister does not have an NTN number and Maryam Nawaz is dependent on the Prime Minister. “Maryam Nawaz is the beneficiary owner of London flats,” he said. The lawyer said that the letter of Qatari Prince is different from the prime minister’s stance, adding that Nawaz Sharif didn’t mention in the documents how money was transferred to Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Justice Asif Saeed Khosa remarked that two signatures of Tariq Shafi did not match each other, on which Naeem Bukhari said that Shahbaz Sharif actually signed the documents instead of Tariq Shafi himself. Justice Khosa remarked that it looked like Tariq Shafi was working for Mian Sharif. Justice Ijazul Hassan remarked that there is contradiction between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’ speech and the documents submitted the court.
