Coronavirus 4th wave: Sindh govt announces closure of indoor dinning and schools

KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh government has announced the closure of indoor dinning in the wake of the threat of the fourth wave.

The decision was made during a meeting of the Sindh Coronavirus Taskforce on Wednesday.

The indoor dinning will be closed from Thursday evening while schools will be shut from Friday. Moreover, 9th and 10th classes except examinations will be closed.

On the other hand, tourists have been banned from visiting parks, water parks, Sea View and Keenjhar Lake. Cinemas, indoor gyms and sports will have also been banned.

Earlier, the meeting was briefed that the positivity rate has reached 7.4 percent. It expressed a grave concern over an increase in the coronavirus cases. However, the meeting rejected strict proposals to deal with coronavirus.

The Sindh Health Department had proposed to impose a complete lockdown and closure of shopping malls for 10 days. It had also suggested the closure of social and political ceremonies and shrines.
