ISLAMABAD (92 News) – As many as 4,944 new coronavirus cases have surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 165,061.
These include 61,678 in Punjab, 62,269 in Sindh, 20,182 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8,998 in Balochistan, 9,941 in Islamabad, 1,225 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 769 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The death toll from the virus stands at 3,229 with 136 deaths reported during the last 24 hours. As many as 28,824 corona tests were carried out during this period.
Meanwhile, 61,383 patients have so far recovered from the disease.
Earlier, two-week smart lockdown
have already been imposed in Karachi’s coronavirus-affected areas.The affected areas including Malir, Korangi, Landhi, Mominabad, Qayyumabad, Nasir Colony, Millat Town, Kharadar, Sadr, Layari, Defence, Soldier Bazar, Safoora Goth and Urdu Colony have been sealed.
The use of masks has been made mandatory. A ban has been imposed on the movement of the people in these areas.
