Coronavirus cases jump in Pakistan, total number of patients rise to five
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Coronavirus cases jumped in Pakistan as total number of patients rise to five on Tuesday.
This report was confirmed by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza. “We have now 5th confirmed case of #COVID19 in federal areas,” Dr Zafar Mirza said.
“Patient is stable and is being managed well. I request the media to respect the privacy of the patient and the family,” the special assistant tweeted.
Earlier, Dr Zafar Mirza said that one of the two patients has tested positive in the capital Islamabad and the other one in Karachi. It is noteworthy that the earlier two cases were also detected in the same cities. The special assistant said they were fast recovering and one would be discharged from hospital soon. He said the government would further reinforce surveillance measures at border crossings with Iran and other neighbouring countries. “I can confirm 2 new cases of #coronavirus disease have been diagnosed today in Pakistan. 1 in Sindh and 1 in Fed areas. These patients are being handled according to clinical protocols. In another tweet, the special assistant said, “National and provincial leaders met today for a marathon coordination meeting to further ramp up the national effort to combat #coronavirus. Most importantly we took action to scale up measures and coordinate across all levels and with all stakeholders.”229/ I can confirm 2 new cases of #coronavirus disease have been diagnosed today in Pakistan. 1 in Sindh and 1 in Fed areas.
