Coronavirus claims 142 more lives as third wave continues to wreak havoc

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – As many as 142 more people died of coronavirus across the country during the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll to 17,329.

According to the data available with the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Tuesday, 4,487 new infections were reported during this period. The positivity rate of cases has been at 10.20 percent.

During the last 24 hours, 43,981 tests were conducted and as a result, the number of total tests conducted so far rose to 11,632,913. The condition of 213 more patients went critical.

The province-wise cases are: Sindh (279,272), KPK (114,661), Punjab (293,468), Islamabad (73,804), Balochistan (21,803), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (16,659) and Gilgit-Baltistan (5,272).

On the other hand, 50 percent ventilators are in use in Islamabad, 69 percent in Lahore, 81 percent in Gujranwala and 78 percent in Peshawar.
