Coronavirus claims 40 more lives across country

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The pandemic coronavirus has claimed more 40 people across Pakistan in last 24 hours as the nationwide tally of deaths has jumped to 22,888 on Wednesday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 2,579 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, pushing the tally of confirmed cases to 996,451.The positivity rate of infections was recorded at 6.26 per cent.

Furthermore 359,824 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 351,345 in Punjab, 141,138 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 85,028 in Islamabad, 29,242 in Balochistan, 22,339 in Azad Kashmir and 7,535 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
