Coronavirus claims more 47 lives in past 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Pakistan has recorded 47 more coronavirus-related deaths in past 24 hours, surging the overall death toll to 12,380 on Tuesday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 958 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 564,824.

There are now 25383 active cases in the country. The total count of active cases is 25,383 and the positivity rate stands at 3 per cent. In the past 24 hours, as many as 1,064 patients have recovered from the virus in a day and 1,648 patients are still in critical condition.

A total of 31,905 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Overall 527,061 people have recovered from the deadly disease so far while 8,498,022 samples have been tested thus far.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Till now 254,016 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 164,696 in Punjab 69,885 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 42,808 in Islamabad, 18,946 in Balochistan, 9,532 in Azad Kashmir and 4,941 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 5,084 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,226 in Sindh, 2,000 in KP, 486 in Islamabad, 283 in Azad Kashmir, 199 in Balochistan, and 102 in GB.
