Coronavirus claims more 64 lives in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Pakistan has reported 64 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 12,772 on Thursday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 1,361 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 575,941.

The total count of active cases is 23,281.

In the past 24 hours, as many as 1,681 patients have recovered from the virus in a day and 1,590 patients are still in critical condition.

A total of 40,906 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Overall 539,888 people have recovered from the deadly disease so far while 8,831,892 samples have been tested thus far.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Till now 257,089 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 169,474 in Punjab 71,490 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 43,901 in Islamabad, 19,010 in Balochistan, 10,022 in Azad Kashmir and 4,955 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 5,308 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,315 in Sindh, 2,058 in KP, 494 in Islamabad, 296 in Azad Kashmir, 199 in Balochistan, and 102 in GB.
