Coronavirus claims more 86 deaths in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The pandemic coronavirus (COVID-19) has claimed more 86 deaths across Pakistan in the last 24 hours as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 23,295 on Friday.

According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 4,537 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,024,861

The NCOC said that the country’s number of overall confirmed cases has risen to 1,024,861, including 938,843 recoveries, adding that the positivity rate of infections was recorded at 7.79 per cent. 3,117 people are in critical condition.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Till now 11019 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 5,947 in Sindh, 4,444 in KP, 799 in Islamabad, 622 in Azad Kashmir, 327 in Balochistan, and 137 in GB.

Furthermore, 377,231 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 355,483 in Punjab, 143,213 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 86,945 in Islamabad, 30,162 in Balochistan, 23,819 in Azad Kashmir and 8,008 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
