ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Coronavirus continuously declining across Pakistan as 286,157 patients have recovered from coronavirus in Pakistan. According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Pakistan reported 330 new cases of the novel coronavirus during the previous 24 hours, taking the national tally of infections to 299,233. Five more people succumbed to the deadly virus during this period, lifting the death toll from the disease to 6,350. As many as 286,157 patients have recovered from the coronavirus in the country with active cases going down to 6,726. 23,521 samples were tested over the past 24 hours, out of which 330 turned out to be positive. 1,047 patients are under treatment in 735 hospitals across the country, 93 of whom are ventilators. A day earlier, Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) decided to reopen universities and colleges in the country from September 15. Federal Minister for Education and Vocational Training Shafqat Mahmood, chaired the conference on the issue. Ministers from all provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir attended the meeting. The IPEMC decided to allow universities and colleges across the country to reopen principally from September 15. During the meeting it was decided that in first phase universities, colleges will be allowed to reopen from September 15 under strict implementation of SOPs and in second phase students of sixth to eight standard will be allowed to return to schools from September 23. it is pertinent to mention here that the concerned authorities will monitor the coronavirus situation following the resumption of classes of 9th graders onward, after which classes six to eight will be allowed to resume.
