Coronavirus fears: PHC issues directives for office employees

PESHAWAR (92 News) – The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday has issued directives including nine-points for the employees working at different offices across the province due to fears of novel coronavirus. During the hearing, the court has barred employees from shaking hands and hugging each other. The judge has also ordered the workers suffering from cough, fever and flu to wear mask. Biometric attendance system has also been suspended as per the directives. Earlier, coronavirus cases jumped in Pakistan as total number of patients rise to four. This report was confirmed by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza. “One of the two patients has tested positive in the capital Islamabad and the other one in Karachi,” Dr Zafar Mirza said. It is noteworthy that the earlier two cases were also detected in the same cities. The special assistant said they were fast recovering and one would be discharged from hospital soon. He said the government would further reinforce surveillance measures at border crossings with Iran and other neighbouring countries. “I can confirm 2 new cases of #coronavirus disease have been diagnosed today in Pakistan. 1 in Sindh and 1 in Fed areas. These patients are being handled according to clinical protocols. Contact tracing  has started and we will make sure all concerned are taken well care off,” Zafar Mirza tweeted.
