Coronavirus not only a medical challenge but also economic one: FM Qureshi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that coronavirus is not only a medical challenge but also an economic one. Addressing the Pakistan community in America through the video link on Saturday, he said that overseas Pakistanis have always played their vibrant role during the difficult time. He said that the coronavirus epidemic is not at its peak as yet, which is expected in the start of June. “Pakistan has enhanced the capacity to bring back 7,000 stranded Pakistanis from abroad every week. The figure will go up in the coming weeks,” he hoped. The minister said that it is their utmost endeavour to bring back all the registered 60,000 stranded Pakistanis before Eidul Fitr. “10,000 Pakistanis have already been brought back.” Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the government had taken the initiatives to protect the poor segments of the society and support the economy at this difficult juncture.
