Coronavirus patients need oxygen more than ventilators: NDMA chairman

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lt Gen Muhammad Afzal has said that the coronavirus patients need oxygen more than ventilators. Talking to the media after receiving the relief goods sent by China, he said that they have 600 more ventilators and given 250 ventilators to the provinces. “I hope that the requirement of Lahore will be fulfilled. We will review the situation after visiting Peshawar and Karachi,” he said. He said that there is no shortage of testing equipment in the country. “Tests will be conducted in two or three shifts. We will provide the equipment for as many tests conducted by provinces,” he maintained. The NDMA chairman said that Pakistan has capacity to conduct 100,000 tests daily. “107 more laboratories have been set up across the country. We want to take the capacity to 150 laboratories,” he said.
