Coronavirus positivity rate in 7 cities of Punjab is over 12%: CM Buzdar

LAHORE (92 News) – Urging people to take precautionary measures against the pandemic, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar on Thursday said that the coronavirus (COVID-19) positivity rate in some cities of the province is over 12 per cent.

Speaking to the journalists along with provincial health minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and Firdous Ashiq Awan, the chief minister said that the Punjab will purchase vaccine doses more than its resources.

He also approved procurement of coronavirus vaccine for the province, saying that 1.5 billion rupees have been allocated for the purchase of vaccine doses. "The provincial government will purchases more than one million doses with its own resources," he added.

CM Buzdar further said that system is stretching thin due to situation of the virus in the province; however, he announced that government is establishing more vaccination centers to speed up the inoculation drive.
