Coronavirus positivity rate recorded at 5.34% across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Coronavirus positivity rate recorded at 5.34 per cent in Pakistan and country has reported 21 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 22,781 on Sunday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 2,607 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and the number of positive cases has surged to 989,275.

A total of 48,816 samples were tested, out of which 2,607 were found to be carrying the deadly virus. The infection rate was recorded at 5.34 per cent, the NCOC said.

The number of total tests to diagnose the pandemic in the country stands at 15,393,974, while 919,163 people have regained their health from the COVID-19.

2,508 people are still critical and being treated at the various hospitals of the country.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 10,871 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 5,702 in Sindh, 4,385 in KP, 787 in Islamabad, 601 in Azad Kashmir, 319 in Balochistan, and 116 in GB.

Furthermore 350,259 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 355,462 in Punjab, 140,560 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 84,563 in Islamabad, 29,080 in Balochistan, 21,989 in Azad Kashmir and 7,362 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Currently till July 18, a total of 22,735,993 doses have been administered to people across the country including 18,185,297 partial doses and 4,550,696 fully vaccinated.

Covid-19 vaccination centres across the country will remain closed on the first day of Eidul Adha.
