Corruption charges not proven against Nawaz, Maryam: Shehbaz

LONDON (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif said that the corruption charges were never proven against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz. Pitiful moment was seen when Shehbaz reached at Nawaz's residence in London. Hussain Nawaz, son of Nawaz Sharif, hugged his uncle Shehbaz Sharif to mourn the death of his mother and he could not control his tears. Talking to the journalists in London outside Avenfield House, the PML-N president said that Nawaz Sharif and his children are in great pain over the sad demise of former first lady, adding "May Allah give courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss. He termed Kulsoom a brave woman and stated she played vital role in reshaping the political landscape of the country. Shehbaz said that he signed the parole request on behalf of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz as they had refused to sign on the parole release. "The corruption charges were never proven against Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz," Shehbaz said. He added that they both have appeared before the court 109 times now. Earlier, Shehbaz had departed for London via a foreign airline from the Allama Iqbal International Airport early on Wednesday to bring back the body of his sister-in-law. Shehbaz Sharif and other members of the family will return to Pakistan on Friday at 6am along with Kulsoom’s body. The body of Kulsoom Nawaz will be flown from Heathrow airport on Thursday at 10pm PST via PIA flight PK-758. Nawaz Sharif sons Hassan and Hussain Nawaz will not return to Pakistan to attend the funeral prayers of their mother owing to legal complications. On Tuesday, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz passed away at London’s Harley Street Clinic after a prolonged battle with cancer.
