Corruption is a major obstacle in development & prosperity: PM Shehbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that corruption is a major obstacle in the way of development and prosperity of any country .

In his message on the occasion of World Anti-Corruption Day, PM Shehbaz Sharif said that corruption not only increases the risk of the country's precious money falling into the hands of miscreants, which destroys the country's peace, but also weakens institutions and people lose confidence in governance. "Today is also the day to renew the pledge that all of us should be leaders in the fight against corruption," he maintained. 

Shehbaz Sharif said that the practice of making corruption a means of revenge in Pakistan's politics must be ended. "The manner in which political rivals were jailed on false charges of corruption is unprecedented in the past," he addded. 

He said that to prevent corruption, all political circles need to create a clear road map together so that it can be effectively fought instead of political rhetoric. "Institutions have to be strengthened to reduce corruption in the country. Social security and social values as well as rule of law have to be ensured," he added.
