LAHORE (92 News) - Tall claims of providing uninterrupted power supply to the masses kept mocking the government and statesmen as the first fast was marked with protest against power outages in several cities. As per reports, the government failed to stop load shedding during Sehr and Iftar timings in parts of the country, including KPK, Karachi and Lahore. In Multan, unannounced load-shedding infuriated the residents of Haram Gate, Sabzi Mandi and Rehmanpura areas, who surrounded the Wapda office and chanted slogans against the government. Similar protests were held in Lodhran, Gujranwala and Khanewal. Earlier on Friday, enraged people in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where charged-up protesters set Pesco sub-divisional office on fire and blocked the motorway. In Charsadda too, the people protested against prolonged power outage and attacked the Pesco sub-office. The span of unannounced load shedding was also increased in Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Dadu and Mirpur Khas against which the people took to roads and surrounded relative offices voicing slogans against the government.
