Countrywide protests by religious party workers continue for second day

LAHORE (92 News) - The countrywide protests by the workers of religious party continued for the second day on Tuesday.

According to the details garnered, sit-ins being observed by a religious party in Lahore and other cities of Pakistan have led to a serious disruption in the flow of traffic.

The roads are blocked in many cities of the country. Citizens are facing the severe difficulties. Protests at dozens of places in Lahore also disrupted the traffic system. Citizens also troubled in Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Sheikhupura and other cities.

The Punjab government, after Lahore, has sought the deployment of Rangers personnel for other districts as well. The Punjab home department has written to the federal government after receiving a nod in this regard by Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar.

The deployment of Rangers has been requested for Rahim Yar Khan, Chakwal, Sheikhupura and Gujranwala.

Long queues of vehicles were witnessed all entry and exit points of the city due to the protest of a religious party. Passengers faced numerous problems due to blockage of traffic. People could not reach their offices due to blockage of roads.

In Rawalpindi, the traffic system was badly disrupted. The protesters blocked traffic by erecting barricades. A heavy contingent of police also reached the spot.

In Karachi, roads were blocked at three key points, causing problems for motorists and pedestrians. The police seized dozens of motorcycles in Orangi Town No 5.
