LHC accepts Ayyan Ali's bail plea, orders her release

LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday accepted supermodel Ayyan Ali`s bail plea in the currency smuggling case and ordered her release. A two-member bench of the LHC heard the case. Ayyan Ali`s lawyer told court that the money came from a legitimate property sale and the model had no intention of taking it out of the country.  "My client had yet to check into her flight was waiting in the lounge for her brother who was was going to take the cash to Karachi," he said. After hearing the arguments, the Lahore High Court suspended the judicial remand, approved the bail and directed the authorities to release her immidiately. Ayyan Ali has been languishing in Central Jail Adiala for attempting to smuggle over $500,000 out of the country.  Pakistani law bars any passenger from carrying over $10,000.
