ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The accountability court on Friday accepted the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s plea to make a record of Hassan Nawaz’s documents in the Flagship Investment reference. Accountability Court Judge Arshad Malik heard the Flagship reference and accepted the request of Nawaz’s counsel to submit additional documents. The National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) prosecutor raised objections for submission of new documents, said the defence counsel has brought the plea seeking permission to submit the documents at this juncture when the court had already reserved its verdict in the cases. After hearing arguments from both the sides, the judge rejected NAB reservations and accepted the former premier’s plea to make the new documents part of the case record. The Sharif family’s lawyer also requested to announce verdict on December 26 in place of 24. He pleaded that the verdict be announced after the PML-N supreme leader’s birthday. To which, the judge remarked he had been making efforts to complete the verdict in both the references before the fixed date. If he succeeds in his efforts, he will announce his ruling on Dec 24, otherwise, he will reschedule its pronouncement, he added.
