Court acquits Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Sharif in money laundering reference

LAHORE (92 News) - Accountability Court Judge Qamaruz Zaman on Thursday acquitted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz in the money laundering case on Thursday.

The court announced the reserved verdict. The NAB has nominated 16 accused, including Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz, Nusrat Shehbaz, Javeria Shehbaz and Rabia Shehbaz, in the Rs7.32 billion reference. They were also accused of accumulating assets beyond means.

The court issued perpetual arrest warrants for Rabia Imran, daughter of PM Shehbaz Sharif's daughter, who had been declared absconder in the case.

The accused had filed petitions seeking acquittal. The NAB investigators had also confirmed that no evidence was found.
