He ruled that the accused should first surrender to court and then benefit from legal rights. "The government allowed the fugitive to go abroad and blamed the accused," he added.

The IHC remarked that they had already ruled in the Pervez Musharraf case that there was no relief for any fugitive.

The court observed that nationality of any absconding accused can be cancelled. "The passport and CNIC of an absconding accused can be cancelled," he added.

The court sought arguments regarding maintainability of the petition.

The case has been adjourned until December 16.
