Court defers indictment proceedings against Ahsan Iqbal in Narowal Sports city case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Accountability court on Monday deferred the indictment proceedings against PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal in Narowal Sports City case.

According to details, the hearing has been adjourned till December 22.

Speaking to the journalists after his appearance in court, the former interior minister termed the allegations as baseless and said that political leaders are being humiliated by using NAB.

He claimed that the survival of the current government will become difficult after upcoming rally of PDM. "The option of resignations is a red card which will show the government out of the ring."

The PML-N leader also demanded an inquiry into the assets of the NAB chairman and senior officials.

NAB had alleged Iqbal of illegally initiating a project of Rs 3 billion in Narowal and causing a loss worth billions to the national exchequer.

NAB claimed to have received a complaint that the Narowal Sports City was constructed at a cost of approximately Rs6 billion, which was a violation of rules.
