Court exempts CM Shahbaz from appearance on May 14

LAHORE (92 News) - The Lahore High Court on Wednesday granted Punjab Chief Minister exemption from appearing before court on Wednesday in a reference filed by Institute of Islamic Culture. As per reports, Justice Abdur Rahman Lodhi heard the case. During the proceedings, Punjab Advocate General stated that the chief executive of the province cannot be summoned as per Article 248 of the constitution. “Also, the applicant has not made the CM party to the case,” he said. The court exempted the chief minister from appearance while summoning the Punjab Chief Secretary to appear before the court in his stead.
