Court extends Hamza’s judicial remand till August 9

LAHORE (92 News) – An accountability court on Thursday extended the judicial remand of Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz till August 9 in Ramazan Sugar mills case. The PML-N leader was presented before the accountability court Lahore. However, PML-N president Shebaz Sharif could not appear before the court due to Senate election. Later, the court extended the judicial remand of Hamza Shehbaz till August 9. On June 11, the premier anti-corruption watchdog had arrested Hamza in the same cases and shifted him to the bureau’s headquarter at Thokar Niaz Baig in Lahore after the Lahore High Court (LHC) turned down his applications for extension in his interim bail. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in February had filed a reference against the two alleging that the former Punjab chief minister misused his authority by using public funds for the construction of a bridge to facilitate the Ramzan mills, owned by his sons.
