Court extends  remand of Faryal Talpur till July 22

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The accountability court on Monday extended the physical remand of Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) lawmaker Faryal Talpur till July 22 in mega money laundering case. Former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Talpur were produced before Islamabad accountability court. The NAB produced Talpur before Accountability Judge Muhammad Arshad Malik on the conclusion of her 14-day physical remand. The NAB prosecutor pleaded the court for another extension in physical remand of Talpur for further interrogation. The court adjourned the case till July 22. Meanwhile, accused Anwar Majeed was not presented due to the bad condition of health. During the appearance, the journalists asked him about Maryam Nawaz presser but he ignored to comment on this issue. Earlier, Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani issued the production orders for Talpur, sister of PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Assembly secretary wrote a letter to the NAB chairman to bring her to the assembly.

In the letter, it has been stated that Frayal Talpur’s production orders have been issued under the law. “Faryal Talpur should be produced in the assembly,” it demanded. Faryal Talpur is under house arrest in her residence in Islamabad.
Court approves physical remand of Faryal Talpur till June 24
On June 15, an accountability court had remanded Talpur, sister of PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in the custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for 9 days. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested Talpur, sister of PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, in the money laundering case.Former president Asif Ali Zardari is already under arrest.
