Court orders formation of police JIT for probe into IHC attack case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah has ordered to form a joint investigation team (JIT) comprising of senior police officers for a probe into the attack on the Islamabad High Court.

Hearing the case, he remarked that the incident was intolerable. "All attackers were lawyers and here was no outsiders." He ordered not to harass any innocent lawyer.

He observed that he had been working for court since he assumed office as chief justice. He asked the district administration to inform the lawyers about progress on the construction of Judicial Complex. 

The chief justice ordered the JIT to get assistance from district bar associations for locating the people involved in the incident.

Later, the court adjourned the case until February 15.
