Court rejects Azam Swati's bail plea in controversial tweet case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - A local court rejected the bail plea of PTI Senator Azam Swati in the controversial tweet case on Wednesday.

Announcing the reserved verdict, the court ruled that Azam Swati had committed the same crime twice and hence his bail plea is rejected.

Sohail Khan Swati, the petitioner's counsel, contended that the Twitter account was not Azam Swati's and the case was formed on the basis of the screen short of the prosecutor.

Giving the arguments, Prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi informed the court about the account verification method. He said that renowned politicians and journalists were following the account of Azam Swati. "Moreover, Azam Swati has never denied about the said account," he maintained.
