ISLAMABAD (92 News) - An Islamabad accountability court on Wednesday rejected former president Asif Ali Zardari’s plea for quashing three supplementary references in fake accounts cases against him. The accountability court announced its verdict in the Park Lane, mega money laundering, and Thatta water supply references. The court said that Zardari can’t be acquitted in the fake bank accounts references. The court also summoned him and other accused to appear on September 28. The court will now indict the accused in the three references. Earlier this month, Accountability Judge Azam Khan had deferred indictment of the former president in the Park Lane supplementary reference after he moved an application requesting deferment of framing of charges until his plea for quashing the reference is decided.
