ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Magistrate Malik Amanullah on Monday remanded PTI Shahbaz Gill in police custody for two days.

The court announced the reserved verdict, ordering the police to produce him again on August 24. The police presented the medical report regarding torture of Shahbaz Gill. His counsels objected to the police report and requested formation of a medical board comprising of private doctors.

Earlier on Friday, the court had suspended the police plea for eight-day physical remand of PTI leader Shahbaz Gill. The court had also ordered to keep Shahbaz Gill in PIMS Hospital and re-conduct his medical examination.

Shahbaz Gill was discharged from PIMS hospital on the recommendation of the medical board. The medical report stated that Shahbaz Gill's health is satisfactory. Later, he was brought to court of Duty Judge Raja Farrukh Ali Khan on a wheelchair and without a mask.

Shahbaz Gill started shouting around the court, saying: “The police took away my mask, give me an oxygen mask. They have been giving me injections till two o'clock in the night. I am an asthmatic patient and I need oxygen badly.” The court ordered immediate provision of oxygen masks to him.

Counsel Faisal Chaudhary told court that Shahbaz Gill could not climb the stairs, on which the judge directed the police to bring him up. Later, Shahbaz Gill himself climbed the stairs and reached court.

Faisal Chaudhary said that the remand given by the additional sessions judge had been completed, on which the judge remarked that the two-day remand did not start due to Shahbaz Gill's illness. The Islamabad police had requested court to remand Shahbaz Gill for another eight days, which was opposed by Shahbaz Gill's counsel.
