ISLAMABAD (92 News) – An accountability court in Islamabad heard the LNG case against former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday. The court has reserved the verdict on National Accountability Bureau (NAB) objections against sale of Khaqan Abbasi’s car. The former prime minister had sold the car to a man named Imran Khan. He informed the bureau after buying the vehicle. The court reserved verdict after completion of arguments. However, the decision will be announced tomorrow. Meanwhile, the anti-graft watchdog body has frozen the moveable and immovable assets of Khaqan Abbasi and former finance minister Miftah Ismail. After the freezing of assets of both PML-N leaders, they will not be able to transfer ownership of vehicles and property. Earlier, an accountability court strictly directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplementary reference till August 6. The NAB has once again sought time from accountability court for filing LNG supplementary reference. However, the indictment proceedings against former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have been deferred till registration of supplementary reference. The court has given last deadline for filing final reference and ordered to the anti-graft watchdog to file the reference till August 6 after investigation. Talking to the journalists, the former prime minister said that the NAB is being used politically, adding that all allegations are fake and baseless against him.
