COVID-19 claims more 46 lives in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The pandemic coronavirus (COVID-19) has claimed more 46 lives in the last 24 hours across Pakistan as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 11,560 on Friday.

According to the latest statistics of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), as many as 1,644 fresh infections were reported in past 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 541,031.

In the past 24 hours, as many as 2,167 patients have recovered from the virus in a day and 2,133 patients are still in critical condition. The total count of active cases is 32,726.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), with fresh inclusion of the infections in the country the national tally of cases now currently stands at 541,031.

A total of 43,381 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Overall 496,745 people have recovered from the deadly disease so far while 7,848,316 samples have been tested thus far.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Most numbers of casualties have been reported in Punjab.

Till now 244,340 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 156,404 in Punjab, 66,451 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,798 in Balochistan, 41,176 in Islamabad, 8,953 in Azad Kashmir and 4,909 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 4,681 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 3,969 in Sindh, 1,879 in KP, 194 in Balochistan, 476 in Islamabad, 259 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in GB.
