COVID-19 claims more 59 lives due to coronavirus in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Pakistan has reported 59 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 12,026 on Monday.

According to the latest statistics of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the COVID-19 1,037 fresh infections were reported in the past 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 555,511.

As many as 1,260 patients have recovered from the virus in a day and 1,828 patients are still in critical condition. The total count of active cases is 31,983 and positivity rate stands at 3.22 per cent.

A total of 32,149 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Overall 511,502 people have recovered from the deadly disease so far while 8,224,869 samples have been tested thus far.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Till now 251,047 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 160,935 in Punjab 68,531 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 41,994 in Islamabad, 18,869 in Balochistan, 9,219 in Azad Kashmir and 4,916 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 4,900 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,119 in Sindh, 1,957 in KP, 480 in Islamabad, 272 in Azad Kashmir, 196 in Balochistan, and 102 in GB.
