COVID-19 spike: Govt closes all educational institutions from Nov 26 to Jan 10

Talking to the media after a meeting of Inter-provincial Education Ministers, he said that online education from home would continue from November 26 to December 24. "Educational institutions will remain closed for the winter vacations from December 25 to January 10," he added.

He announced that examinations have been postponed until mid January.

Dr Faisal Sultan said that there was a danger of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic if important decisions were not made.

During the meeting, the Sindh government had proposed not to close all educational institutions. Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani suggested that primary schools should be closed and classes from primary onward should continue.

Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas said that he was not in favour of closure of schools. "Children should be barred from visiting malls and parks if the government is closing schools," he suggested.
