COVID positivity rate in Pakistan exceeds 7.5% as cases reported highest since late May

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Following to fourth wave of the COVID-19, Pakistan recorded a positivity rate of more than 7.5% on Monday morning and fresh cases reported highest since late May on Monday.

According to National Command and Operation Centre's latest statistics, 49,947 corona tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, of which 3,752 came back positive. The number of positive cases has surged to 1,008,446

The coronavirus claimed more 32 deaths in the past 24 hours as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 23,048.

According to the official portal, the COVID-19 positivity rate is currently 7.51%. As many as 1,641 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours across the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 927,599 while the number of active cases is 57,799.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 10,944 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 5,833 in Sindh, 4,420 in KP, 793 in Islamabad, 610 in Azad Kashmir, 325 in Balochistan, and 123 in GB.

Furthermore 367,092 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 353,238 in Punjab, 141,925 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 85,780 in Islamabad, 29,571 in Balochistan, 23,093 in Azad Kashmir and 7,747 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
